NPDES Monitoring Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 The S0'NGS monitoring report covering the month of October is submitted in accordance with~the requirements of CRUQCB Order 88 001 (NPDES Parmit No.
B "CA0001228). A summary of the generating unit's status and significant analytical results is provided below.

- to be within' permit-limits, except the Sewage Treatment Plant. The effluent L ' ".'
- was high-on settleable solids October 20 and low on pH October 26. -It is believed lthat the'settleable solids increased due to the. introduction of an unknown substance into the sewer on October 19 and 20..The low pH occurred during the r covery phase from this upset on a day that, ittis believed, there' i was, another unknown substance in the influent. -In an effort to reduce these e
incidences, the EPA restrictions against introduction of foreign substances into the" sewer are being reemphasized to all site personnel.
Further, the.
, potential sources (a~nd flow paths) of foreign substances in the sewage h
treatment plant ~ are being evaluated.
