$n" vie subject MARBLE llILL NUCLEAR GENERATING STATIONS, UNITS 1 & 2 INDIANA SPP-5, NRC CONCERN OF " TEMPORARY" INACCESSIBLE AREAS attention:
G. BROWN On Tuesday August 19 Mr. Frank Hawkins of the N.R.C. Region III Staff
- ontacted me to discuss some additional concerns about Special Process Frocedure, SPP-5 and the final report on SPP-5 submitted to Region III on July 18, 1980.
Mr. Hawkins would like to know how and when PSI plans to inspect concrete surface areas, other than backfilled areas which PSI addressed in our May 9th letter (attached), which were inaccessible during the SPP-5 inspections because of form work, equipment, etc.
I have discussed this matter with Mr. Jim Kime, Construction Manager, and the present plan is for Newberg-Marble Hill (N-MH) to incorporate the inspection requirements of SPP-5 into N-MH Category I vork procedures and complete the inspection of the subject inaccessible areas upon resumption of Category I Civil activities. Any concrete patches and/or repair areas identified by N-MH will be removed and/or evaluated and repaired as committed in the final report.
