Arkansas Power and Light Company Arkansas: Nuclear One, Unit 2 Docket No. 50-368 Notice of Deviation Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted during the period of June 22 through July 21, 1980, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in accordance with your commitments to the Commission as indicated below:
Unit 2, Final Safety Analysis Report, Section 10.3.5, states in part that,
" Catalyzed hydrazine is added to the feedwater at the outlet of the condensate pumps to scavenge traces of oxygen and maintain 4 residual of 10-50 ppb."
Section 10.3.5 furtber states that, "Certain impurities (silica and chloride) in the steam generater water are measured 5 times / week when the daily feedwater sample analysis is done.
Chemical additives, ammonia and cata-lyzed hydrazine, are also analyzed at this time and recorded by the chemistry lab."
Contrary to the above,_ catalyzed hydrazine is not used as a feedwater additive, and ammonia and hydrazine are sampled and analyzed only once and twice per week, respectively.
This is a deviation.
