Dear Hr. Snyder:

I am writing to express my opinion on the request to extend the period of public comment on the 2nvironmental Impact Statement (NUR20-0683) an additional 45 days after the deadline of cetober 6,1980. This request was =ade at the first meeting to discuss this report held at the Forum in Harrisburg, Pa. on September 3, 1980.

With the availability of copies and the 45 day time period, an appropriate commentary can be made and therefore will enable the U.S. NRC to make a judicious decision on it. To delay again would seriously hamper the operation of cleanup at the island and caude economic hardship on the residents of this area. 3y granting an extension you only serve to enhance the coffers of the state's revenues ( through taxes colledted on purchased power which is higher than we produced) and those in opposition who have become experts in using this tactic to further drain the company's limited finances.

The decision to prepare this study was made on November 21, 1980 and the announcement that it was ready for comment were both publ-icized to make those interested to express their opinions.

I have a copy of this statement and feel that its study and pre-paration of my comment will not be burdened in any way by the h5 day comment period ending on october 6, 1980.

I would hope that you will not extend the commeat period for the public and will forward my to you at the appropriate time. Thanking you for your consideration in this matter.

Yours truly,
