Dear Sir:

Reference 5 was submitted in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55 (e) and identified a deficiency in the rod drop analysis. That interim report made a commitment to review the Westinghouse prepared topical report, which was to be prepared by mid 1980, and submit a final report on the rod drop analysis to you by 8/28/80.

We now find that the Westinghouse topical report will not be available until late September, 1980 and we are therefore unable to provide a final report i at this time. l l

We new expect g have a final report to you on this subject by December, 1980.
