Gentlemen:
This refers to the special inspection conducted by Mr. T. J. Madeda
and Ms. G. M. Christoffer of this office on July 30 and 31, 1980, of
activities at Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2 authorized by
NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-39 and No. DPR-45 and to the discussion
of our findings with Mr. K. Graesser and other members of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined
during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted
of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
observations, and interviews with personnel.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during
the course of this inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection concern a su'. Ject matter which is
exempt from disclosure according to Section 2.79C, of the NRC's " Rules of
Practice," Part 2, Title 10, c de of Federal Regulations. Consequently,

our report of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document
Room.
