This letter confirms the call made to your office on July 24, 1980, in which we extended an invitation for members of your staff to attend a working level meeting at the Region I office to discuss your plant's as-installed configuration of the Control Rod Drive Systems shutdown discharge volume and other matters associated with IE Bulletin 80-17, " Failure of Control Rods to Insert Fully During a Scram at a BWR," issued July 3,1980.
The meeting will be held on August 5,1980, at the Region I office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania starting at 11:00 a.m.
It is expected to last approximately lis hours. One hour prior to the scheduled time, a taped presentation regarding the subject will be given by NRR personnel for those who wish to attend.
During your plant specific discussions, your staff attendees should be prepared to discuss in detail with members of IE and NRR staffs, the a:-built condition of the subject systems. Knowledgeable engineering and design personnel should be available for these discussions. Specifically, you should bring:
- 1. ' Marked up drawings showing as-built conditions which have been identified by walk-thru of the system (including pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings).
2.
A system description including logic diagrams as necessary to show the operation of the system.
3.
Preliminary recomendations for proposed changes to the system.
4.
Eng1ncering bases for the changes.
5.
Interface requirements imposed on the A-E for the system designs.
6.
Interfaces with other systems.
Two copies of all information (including marked up drawings) presented by the licensee should be given to the staff prior to the start of the meeting.
