Dear Mr. McPhillips:
This is in response to your " Motion for An Extension of Time to Make Comments on the Scope of the Proposed Environmental Impact," dated April 7,1980, in which you requested an extension of the time in which additional public com-ments will tm accepted concerning the scope of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) related to the proposed ANFFP facility.
As I stated at the scoping meeting, which was held on March 27, 1980, we will accept and address any comments relating to the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement received after the April 3,1980, date specified in the notice, to the extent our schedule for the preparation of the DEIS permits.
Under the current schedule, I would expect that.any comments received by the end of August of this year can easily be accommodated in the DEIS.
I am informed that your office has been similarly advised by Mr. Sherwin Turk, counsel for the NRC Staff, in telephone conversations on June 10 and June 18, 1980.
If there are specific issues you wish to see addressed in the DEIS, please contact me or Dr. E. Y. Shum at this same address.
