Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

In response to your letter of April 4, 1980 which transmitted IE Bulletin 79-03A, we wish to advise that a review of Catawba Nuclear Station's piping specifications has beca conducted. Duke Power Company has not used SA-312, A-312, Type 300 Series fusion welded pipe in safety-related systems at greater than 85 percent of Code allowabic pressure stresses. No future use above this limit is planned.
