Dear Mr. Helfrich:

Enclosed please find an application from Exxon Nuclear Company, Inc. for a 11-cense to export special nuclear material to West Gennany for eventual use in the Gundremingen siuclear power facilities. We have requested more detailed information from the applicant regarding scheduling for the use of this material. We will forward this information to you upon its receipt.

Before taking action on this license application, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspec-tive of the Executive Branch, as to whether the proposed export meets the applicable criteria of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
