DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 QUALIFICATION OF REACTOR OPERATORS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 Your letter dated March 28, 1980, provided revised criteria to be used by the NRC Staff in evaluating reactor operator training and licensing. to that letter detailed the revised criteria and specified effective dates for their implementation.
The topic of licensing examinations and the requirements of your March letter were subsequently incorporated by reference into the "Five Additional TMI-2 Related Requirements To Operating Reactors" promulgated by Mr. Eisenhut's letter dated May 7, 1980.
On June 11, 1980, we responded to the May 7 letter and committed to providing revised descriptions of the control operator training program and the licensed operator requalification program for the Point Beach Nuclear Staff by August 1, 1980.
These descrip-tions are provided in the enclosures to this letter.
As mentioned in our June 11 letter, it is empha-sized that these enclosures, the " Amended Licensed Operator Requalification Program" and the " Control Operator Training Program", are interim revisions and subject to change.
The uncertainty and changing training requirements, staffing requirements, and suggested program guidelines have made it impossible for us to finalize these programs for your review at this time.
