Gentlemen:
On August 29, 1977 Consumers Power Company submitted its application for operating licenses for Midland Plant Units 1 and 2, including the Midland Final Safety Analysis Report.
The application also requested that construction permits for the Midland Plant be amended to change the earliest and latest dates for completion of construction to October 1, 1981 and October 1, 1982, respectively, for Midland' Plant Unit 1, and October 1, 1980 and October 1, 1981, respectively, for Midland Plant Unit 2.
The request, contained in item 7 of the General Information volume of the operating license application, as well as the statement of good cacse for the requested extensions (shown as Appendix E to the General Information volume) are enclosed.
