0260/0512 Final Re port for Bechtel Power Corporation Deficiency Report No. J-80/01 in Compliance with 10CFR 21' V3-80/0268 Our letter of April 24, 1980, forwarded to you, in accordance with 10CFR Part 21, a report of a deficiency at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station concerning Fase=ount 1151A pressure transmitters.
Our letter also stated that we are investigating -
the matter and would report further within 90 days.
Since that time, your of fice has issued IE Bulletin No. 80-16 which identifies the Rosemount 1151A pressure transmitter problem.
On the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, further investigation has revealed that there are ten (10) each Rosemount ll51A transsitters on Unit 1 and Unit 2 purchased by the Bechtel Power Corporation which are basic cesponents and =ay produce erroneous outputs when over-ranged or under-ranged in their present applications. Our corrective action will consist of replacing these transmitters with new transmitters
.t.ich do not have this same ambiguous characteristic in the, over-range and under-range condition, and which are qualified in accordance with IEEE 223-1974 and 1EEE 344-1975.
Further details of the follow-up action specific to the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GCNS) will be su-=ari:ed in Bechtel Management Correc tive Ac tion Re po rt, GGNS-72 and will be available for your review at tha CGNS construction site,
