Dear Sir:
Enclosed are three (3) originals and forty (40) copies of revised proposed pages to the Crystal River Unit 3 Technical Specifications.
These revised pages correct a simplifying assumptisn made during Babcock & Wilcox re-analysis of Cycle 3, the results of which were transmitted to you in R. M. Bright's letter of April 30, 1980.
Babcock & Wilcox calculated the error adjusted fh../ flow trip setpoint for four pump operation to be 1C4.4%
rated thermal power.
This value was rounded off to 104%, and all the values for three and four pump operation were calculated using the 104%
val ue.
The values calculated using the 104% rated thermal power were submitted to the NRC on April 30, 1980.
The flux / flow trip setpoint of 104.4% rated thermal power was error adjusted.
Any further reduction in this setpoint is unnecessary and can
- limit operating flexibility.
The Technical Specification pages corrected to the calculated values based on the error adjusted flux / flow trip setpoint of 104.4% rated thermal power are resubmitted, herein.
These values are in conformance with the safety analysis previously submitted.
The minimum contained borated water volume of Tech Spec.
3.1.2.8.a.1.
should be increased to_6615 gallons.
This number was overlooked when Tech Spec 3.1.2.9.a.1. was updated.
It is, therefore, requested that Technical Specification Change Request No. 61 be modified to include the attached revised pages.
