In our review of your proposed Technical Specification change to support operation of Davis-Besse 1 during Cycle 2 (submittal dated February 11, 1980, as supplemented on May 21,1980), we have identified further infor-mation that we need in order to complete our review. This infomation is identified in the enclosure.

To assist you in providing us with timely responses to the enclosed questions, we have infomally discussed them with your staff during the week of July 14, 1980.

It is requested that you provide responses by July 29, 1980.

We have r.ot yet received a response to our letter of November 23, 1979 from R.W. Reid (NRC) to L.E. Roe (Toledo Ed) on control rod guide tube Please provide a schedule for your response and, if the response wear.

Please confirm that the ECCS analysis for Davis Besse Unit 1 Cycle 2 would continue to be in compliance with the criteria of 10 CFR 50.46 if the staff claddin (D.G. Eisenhut (NRC)g swelling and rupture models of NUREG-0630 letter to All Operating Light Water Reactors dated November 9,1979) were used in your ECCS evaluation model.

Please provide the expected values for the maximum local and maximum assembly burnup for E0C 2 at Davis Besse Unit 1.

Will fuel rod internal pressures remain below nominal system pressure during normal operation for these projected burnups?
