On July 6,1980, personnel at Unit 1 were performing a routine surveillance test on the Emergency Steam Driven Feedwater Pump (P7A).
During this test a steam leak developed.
It is our understanding that these maintenance personnel removed the insulation covering the flange to turbine casing and discovered that five (5) of the eight (8) studs had failed.
Our infonnation indicates that the five (5) failed studs and the three (3) studs remaining in the flange were removed and replaced with eight (8) new studs.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Inspection and Enforcement, requests that one of these failed studs be delivered ti:
