SUMMARY
OF APRIL 22, 1980 MEETINGS WITH JERSEY CENTRAL POWER
& LIGHT COMPANY (JCP&L) AND THE PUBLIC CONCERNING EMERGENCY PLANNING FOR THE OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION.
On April 22, 1980, the NRC staff met with JCP&L representatives and with the public to discuss the proposed emergency plan submitted to the NRC December 31, 1979. At 9 AM the staff toured the plant emergency facilities, including the future near-site Emergency Operations Facility. The personnel attending the brief orientation meeting prior to the site tour are 1:sted in attachment #1.
At 1:30 PM an open technical discussion was held between the licensee and the NRC at the Oyster Creek Visitors Center.
The NRC review of the proposed emergency plan.(not the existing approved plan) was the topic of discussion.
Fifty one questions and comments concerning the proposed plan were transmitted to the licensee April 8,1980.
These 51 itms formed the basis of the discussion. The JCP&L and NRC representatives present during the meeting are listed in attachment No. 2.
A roll was not taken of the public in attendance.
At 6:30 PM a public coment session has heid at the Lacey Township Municipal Building.
The NRC staff including Terc Nemen, Ray Priebe, Frank Pagano, Stan Nowicki and Larry Briggs formed a panel that attempted to answer all the public concerns regarding emergency planning for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The panel was introduced by the Mayor of Lacey Township and the meeting proceeded in an orderly and productive manner.
