The NRC has scheduled regional meetings to discuss the upgraded guard qualification and training requirements published in the Federal Register on August 23, 1978 and the guidance on this requirement contained in NUREG 0219 as well as the contingency planning requirements published in the Federal Register on March 23, 1978.

An agenda, the dates and locations of the meetings, and a registration form are enclosed.

Please complete the registration form and return it to Mr. Frank G. Pagano, Jr., Chief, Reactor Safeguards Development Branch, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C. 20555.

Hotel arrangements are the responsibility of each attendee.
