This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. Brown of the Region I,

Directorate of Regulatory Operations Office, on February 12-13, 1974,

at the Babcock and Wilcox Company plant, located in Mt. Vernon, Indiana,

of activities authorized by AEC Construction Permits No. CPPR-81 and

No. CFPR-82 and to the discussions of our findings with Mr. Eills of

your ataff at the conclusion of the inspection.

A copy of our report of this inspection is enclosed and identifies the

areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection

consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with plant personnel, and observations by the inspector.

In accordance with section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Psrt 2,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the
