The referenced letters were interim 50.55 (e) reports. This letter is the final report in that the four decay heat removal pump casings and covers are in conformance with their design requirements and all required corrective actions for the reportable condition have bean co=pleted. A " statement of conformance," signed by both the ASME Authorized Inspection Agency and B&W 11, 1978, has been received by Consumers Power Company.
Canada Ltd, dated July 4
The initial 50.55 (e) report related to the original radiography which was not in conformance with Code requirements. This radiography had been performed by Vis-U-Bay, a subcontractor to B&W Canada Ltd. The re-radiography was performed by Vis-U-Ray for the "D" pu=p casing only and by 3&W Canada Ltd for the "A, "B" and"C" casings. This final set of radiographs was reviewed by both B&W Lychburg and Consumers Power Company and the film was determined to be acceptable by both.
na The result of this radiography was that surface rework (grinding) was required U978

B&W Canada Ltd had their ASME Code sta=p extended to December 31, 1978 to complete existing orders.
