Dear Mr. Stol:
On September 30, 1976 the Commission requested Florida Power Corporation to conduct a reevaluation of the fire protection program at Crystal River Unit #3 and compare in detail the fire protection provisions currently proposed for CR#3 with the guidelines in Appendix A to Branch Technical Position APCSB 9.5-1.
In our October 26, 1976 response to your request, we in-dicated that we would provide the requested information to you by April 29, 1977, which appeared to be adequate at that time.
Since that writing, we have selected NUS Corporation as a consultant to assist us in our evaluation of the fire protec-tion program and our evaluation is nearing final stages of completion.
However, due to the extensiveness of the re-quested reevaluation, we will require additional time to complete this significant effort.
Therefore, this is to request that we be given until June 30, 1977 to submit to the Commission the results of the reevalua-tion of the fire protection program at Crystal River Unit #3.
