Docket No. 50-302 Control No. HD 1338 F2

Dear Mr. 'Ihompson:

We wish to advise you that the deficiency regarding the hydraulic snubber sight gauge leakage has been resolved. A new design for the sight glass has been approved; the manufacturer is supplying sufficient sight glasses to replace all such assemblies at the Crystal River Unit #3 site.

In addition, replacenent oil reservoirs, to which they are attached, are being procured in the event that some might be damaged during the removal of the sight glasses.

It is expected that all safety-related snubbers will be repaired by December 15, 1976. The perfonnance of these new sight glasses will be verified after installation, utilizing a snubber functional test device which Florida Power Corporation has purchased.

We believe this action completes those required by Florida Power Corporation regarding this matter.

If you have any further questions, please advise.

Yours very tntly, hI

} rne.
