Dear Mr. Schwencer:
The following information is in response to your June 9,1975 letter regarding our Appendix K ECCS submittal for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1.
The information requested in part I of your request will be provided as a response to Item 1 of your Request for Additional Information #15.1.2 which was transmitted to i
the Applicant in your letter dated April 18,1975. This response is scheduled for submittal to the NRC by August 29, 1975.
In response to part 2 of your request, no critical equipment is affected by POST-LOCA flooding. Decay heat suction valves, DH-11 and DH-12 are located in an area that will be flooded; however, these vahis will be enclosed in a water tight trench to prevent them from becoming submerged.
We trust that the above meets the needs of our licensing schedule.
