February 23, 1977 The DSS:PS, Instrumentation and Control Systens Branch supple:rtntal input t. the Davis Besse Unit 1 Safety Evaluation Report (SER) dated Dece=ber 1976, was trans::iitted by mexrandum to you cn December 23, 1976.
That input was based on our review of the FSAR tnrough Anend. ment 39 and, in part, Acendment 40.
Several items in tnat transmittal were identified as subjects to be addressed in an SER suppiescent. The enclosed supplementary report addresses these items and presents the results of our review through /cendaent 43.
It should be noted that som, but not all, of the itens identified in the provicus transmittals have been resolved. The following items are these that have not been satisfactorily resolved and remain as outst:nding itms. de will report on our evaluation of these open itcas in the next supplenent to the Safety Evaluation Report.
1.
Final approval of the routing of Class 1 wiring with non-Class 1E wiring within Class lE logic cabinets and panels. Resolution subject to verification tests yet to be submitted by the applicant demonstrating adequate isolation and separation between the safety and non-safety systen (SSER J2 Section 7.2).
2.
Final resolution of the applicant's modifications for the reactor coolant flow transmitters yet to be subnitted (SSE.1 f2 Section 7.2).

Final approval of the applicant's separation criteria for redundant conduits (SSER !2 Section 7.9.2).
Resolution subject to final verification tests yet to be sulnitted.

Final approval of the Class lE electrical distribution system (i.e., the Millstone 2 concerns). Resolution subject to receipt of the applicant's complete analysis (scheduled for March 4,1977) (SSER 12 Section 0.2).
5.
Final approval of the Decay Heat Removal Valve Systen (SSER Section 7.3.4 dated December 28, 1976). Resolution subject to concurrence from Reactor Systems Branch.
