Dear Mr. Rusche:
Duke Power Company, in cooperation with the abcock and Wilcox Com 4
intends to irradiate two Mark C (17x17) dems astration fuel assemblie the Oconee dnit 2, Cycle 2 core.
Attached are forty (40) copies of report BAW-1424, " Irradiation of Two 17x17 Demonstration Assemblies in Oconee 2, Cycle 2", which describes the mechanical, nuclear and thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the two demonstration assemblies and demonstrates the compatibility of these two assemblies with the standard Oconee 2 fuel assemblies. This report is submitted in accordance with the commitment made in J. F. Mallay's (of B&W) letter of December 3, 1974 to Victor Stello, Jr. (of the AEC).
Please note that Oconee Unit 2 is scheduled to begin Cycle 2 operation on May 30, 1976 and that the reload report and associated Technical Specification changes for Oconee Unit 2, Cycle 2 will be submitted to the Commission by early February 1976.
