1 SEP 21 '371 NOTE TO FILES TELECON WITH DUKE POWER COMPANY (CANADY, MILLER) AND LICENSING (LANGE, HOU, BRA M, PELTIER)

OCONEE MEB CONCERNS - SEPTEMBER 20, 1972 This conference call was made to clear up a couple of remaining concerns that MEB raised during the Oconee 2/3 review.

1.

Duke committed to placing peak recording accelerometers on major equipment in the reactor building other than piping cs now stated in the application. This satisfies MEB that equipment with damping factors greater than 1/2% will be surveyed.

2.

Duke cocmitted to stating in its application that Units 2/3 will have the same forcing functions and response to vibration as Unit 1 and that any corrective actions taken on Unit 1 will be t'aken on Units 2/3.

Duke will also state that the test program on the main steamline is typical of Duke's practice for all systems suspect (from operating reports) of having a vibration or deflection problem. MEB finds this acceptable.
