Dear Sir:
Duke Power Company does not consider information contained in OIE Inspec-tion Report 50.-269, -270, -287/76-13 to be proprietary.
With regard to new unresolved Item 76-13/1 concerning the verificatien of redundant equipment operability, it is our interpretation of Technical Specification 3.3.7 that only the specific redundant component is required to be tested prior to removal from service of a component.
The purpose of this verification is to assure th.st the redundant component will remain operable during the brief allowable maintenance period, and it should be noted that such a requirement is not contained in new (standard) technical specifications because of the increased frequency of surveillance.
With the implementation of 10CFR50.55a on all three Oconee Units in 1977, the surveillance frequencies at Oconee will become comparalle with those identi-fied in the standard technical specifications and it is anticipated that a' request will be submitted to NRC/0NRR for deletion of this requirement from the Oconee Technical Specifications.
A y truly yours, William O. Parker, Jr.
