It is requested that a new revised target date of November 15, 1975, be established for the Reactor Systems Branch input for the ECCS evaluation of Oconoo Unit 1.
His reflects a change from an earlier request of October 6,1975, and is necessary in view of recent
- information received from the licensee. As indicated in the October 6, 1975 memo, it was anticipated that Oconee Unit I would reach 250 EPPD j
of operation on its current cycle about December 12, 1975. We have been informed that 250 EPPD will not be attainable in the present rod configuration in that reactivity calculations indicate that only about 235 EPPD will be possible. 235 EPPD is estimated to be reached on November 28, 1975. h e licensee is m iding rod withdrawal limit curves for operation beyond this point w & h will replace the curves for greater than 250 EFPD included in the July 9,1975 ECCS FAC submittal.
In view of the earlier date at which the new curves will be needed, the ECCS review must be completed sooner than presently scheduled in order to prevent facility power reductions.
