A routine, safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise

was conducted by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members of an NRC team
!
on October 3-5, 1989, at your Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Waterford,

Connecticut. Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Amato with your
-
staff at the conclusion of the exercise.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
f
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas,
!
the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and
!
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations of the
,
emergency exercise by team members.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. Northeast
Nuclear Power company's performance during the exercise demonstrated the
i
ability to implement the Millstone Nuclear Power Station Emergency Plan in a
manne- that would provide adequato protective measures for the health and
safety of the public,
