the bulletin required that addressees submit certain information to the NRC regarding CBs that could not be traced to the circuit I

FPC's response to Bulletin 88-10 indicated that all 94 MCCBs on hand as spares for safety-related applications were traceable to the CBM.

The total breakdown was as follows:

Procured directly from Nuclear grade suppliers 40 2.

Procured directly from commercial grade suppliers 30 3.

Procured via distributors, but verified as

3F1089-14 Page 2 Af ter further review of FPC's written report against the supplement clarifications the 94 MCCBs on hand are still considered traceable as follows:

Procured directly from Nuclear grade suppliers 40 2.

Procured and/or received directly from CBMs as commercial grade items (CGI) 30 3.

Procured as original plant equipment in 1978-79*

Total 94 Also inspected by CBM for additional assurance and determined to be original equipment with no evidence of alteration by a third party.

Based on the above, FPC takes the position that all 94 MCCBs are 3

traceable to the circuit breaker manufacturer and, therefore, no i

further testing is required.
