SUBMITTAL DATE EXTENSION 10CFR50.55(e) REPORT IMPROPER PREHEAT OF HEAVY STRUCTURAL MEMBERS RIOR TO WELDING CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 Ref:
ULNRC-333, 5/13/80 On April 18, 1980 we provided the NRC Resident Inspector at Callaway verbal notification of a potential 50.55(e) report regarding use of improper prehea when welding hangers to heavy structural steel members.
In the reference wa advised that evaluation of this matter was underway and that a final report would be submitted by July 31, 1980.
In evaluating this matter it has been decided to conduct a test program involving varioas attachment welds to a 3" thick test plate.
Because of the additional time required 'o gather test materials, perform and section the test welds and evaluate the results, we are unable to submit cur final report on this matter by July 31, 1980 and request that the submittal date be extended to November 28, 1980.
