Notice is hereby given that the U. S. Atomic Energy Comnission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No.1 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-51, issued to the Arkansas Power and Light Company, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Arkansas Nuclear fy One, Unit 1, located on a peninsula on the northern shores of is Lake Dardanelle, in Pope County, 2 niles southeast of the village of London and 5 miles northwest of the city of Russellville in Arkar.aas.

amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.

a The amendment permits monitoring the temperature differential across

the plant condenser once each shift rather than every two hours.when the plant is at steady state power levels.

The temperature differential across

q the condenser will be measured within two hours after a change in power level has stabilized. The amendment requires nonitoring of condenser outlet temperature every two hours if condenser inlet exceeds 85 F with four circulating water pumps running or 70*F with three circulating pumps running.

The aoplication for the amendment conplies with the standards and requirements of the Atonic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Corrtission's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findinas as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and otrac t >
