Administrative Controls - A description of the AP&L administrative controls for fire protection should be provided that describe how the NRC guide-lines contained in the document " Nuclear Plant Fire Protection Functional Responsibilities, Administrative Controls and Quality Assurance" are met, These guidelines were transmf tted to AP&L by letter dated August 23, 1977, A commitment to implement specf fic gutdelines is acceptable in lieu of a description, with the exception that a description of the organizational posf tfons and responsibf1f ties, as reflected.in Attachment No,1 of our gufdelines should also be provided, Where axceptions are taken to speciffe guidelines, the alternative approach should be described and justified, 2.
Fire Hazards Analysis - The fire hazards analysis information provided to date by AP&L does not respond to the NRC requests of October 21, 1976 (ANO-1) and September 30,1976 (ANO-2) and, therefore, does not provide sufficient infonnation to allow an independent :eview by the staff on the adequacy of fire protection for each area, Speciffcally, the following information should be provided for each fire zone:
(a) An identification of the safety-related and safe-shutdown systems located in each fire zone, Where a fire zone is identifled as having only one safety division of equipnent, an identification of systems in the area need not be provided; however, an adequate description of barriers or other features should be provided to show that a postulated fire would be contained within the fire zone, (b) A list of the type, quantity, fireload, and special characteristics of the combustible materials in each fire zone, (c) A description of the design features, such as barriers, physical separation, curbs, configurations, isolation devices, etc., which prevent loss of redundant equfunent in a common fire.
(d). Identification of the fire hazards analysis acceptance criteria which are met for the spectfic zone, including a description of requfred modifications, the bases for conclustons made, and a description of how the ANO acceptance criteria were met,
