RO: II: 50-313 DRO Bulletin No. 72-3 Limitorque Valve Operat.or Failures

Dear Mr. Davis:

The following constitutes an interim report regarding DRO Bulletin No. 72-3, "Limtorque Valve Operator Failures", dated December 4, 1972.

Within thirty days of this date we will submit an additional report-providing complete details of our investigation now in progress.

N.j Our investigation indicates that there are seventy-three (73) operators which may fall in this category. These operators are models SMB-00 or SMB-000 and may have been manufactured between 1969 and 1971.

A complete program of corrective action is not finalized at this time. The program definitely will include investigation of all model SMB-00 and SMB-000 Limitorque operators and replacement of defective torque switches.

The schedule of this program will be set in a fashion that the investigation and replacement, if required, will be finalized before the conclusion of preoperational testing.

Very truly yours, qf fj' ' b 79.,'v; fy.. n, C
