GENERIC LETTER 63-28, ITEM 2.1 (PART 1). EQUIPMENT CLASSIFICATION (RTS COMPONENTS)

RE:

SHOREHAM NUCLEAR POWER STATION Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 (Part 1) required the Long Island lighting Company (LILCO) to confirm that all components whose functioning is required to trip the reactor are identified as safety-related on all plant documentation and in information handling systems that are used to control all activities performed on this safety-related ecuipment.

LILCO responded to this request in its letters of March 9, 1984 and December 4, 1984 We have determined, based on our contractor's report (EGAG-NTA-7438), that LILCO's final response i

to Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.I'(Part 1) is acceptable. A copy of our safety evaluation and a copy of the technical evaluation report prepared by our contractor, EG&G Idaho, Inc., are enclosed for your information.
