Generic Letter (GL) 89 08 was issued on May 2,1989, and asked you to provide

. assurances that you had implemented or will implement a program that ensures that erosion / corrosion. induced pipe wall thinning will not lead to unacceptable degradation of single phase or two. phase high-energy carbon steel systems.

In your reply letter dated June 30, 1989, you stated that the Sacranento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) " plans to defuel the reactor and is y

. proceeding toward closure of the facility".

You further stated that since t

SMUD's plans are to defuel and close the facility, the concerns addressed in GL 89 08 are not applicable.

Generic Letter (GL) 89-08 was issued on May 2,1989, and asked you to provide assurances that you had implemented or will implement a program that ensures that erosion / corrosion - induced pipe wall thinning will not lead to unacceptable degradation of single phase or two-phase high-energy carbon steel systems.
