Docket Nos. 50 361 and 50 362 Followup Report, inoperable Fire Doors September 1989 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 The purpose of this letter is to provide a follow up report for Technical Specification fire rated assemblies (specifically fire doors) found inoperable during routine surveillances in September 1989. This monthly report and previous monthly reports provide updated information associated with the initia.1 1983 report.
The attachment to this letter identifies fire doors found ineperable during the September routine surveillances and consists of:
17 latching mechanism failures and 8 closure mechanism failures. As each of these deficiencies was identified, compensatory fire watches were established pursuant to Technical Specification 3.7.9, Action Statement "a".
No doors were found to be blocked open in September.
