Generic Letter 83-28 (GL 83 28) requested licensees of operating reactors, i
applicants for operating licenses and holders of construction permits to

respond to certain positions resulting from the staff's review of the anticipated transients without scram (ATWS) events at the Salem Nuclear Plant.
i Dy letter dated June 28, 1985 and June 17, 1988, the licensee for GGNS (System Energy Resources, Inc., since December 20, 1906 and Mississippi Power & Light i
Company before that date) provided responses to Position 2.2.1 regarding classification of all safety related components.
The NRC staff has completed its review of these submittels responding to GL 83 28 Position 2.2.1.
