FKantor I am responding to your letter of September 19, 1989, in which you describe your recent meeting with George Mulley from our Office of the Inspector General.
You also requested a copy of the Inspector General's report when it is completed.
The Inspector General has no objection to making the completed L
investigation report publicly available; however, certain information may have to be deleted to protect the privacy of individuals and/or any follow-on Nuclear Regulatory Commission l
(NRC) investigative or disciplinary actions.
The Office of the 1
l Inspector General will contact you after-the report is complete l
and the Commission is in a better position to assess the j
releasability of the information.
l In the meantime, I appreciate your cooperation in meeting with l
Mr. Mulley.
I also appreciate your continued cooperation and that of the other local and State officials who are working to resolve l-I remaining emergency planning issues for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station.

In your letter of September 19, 1989, you desc ibed your recent meeting with George Mulley from our Office of the Inspect General, who is inquiring into testimony presented by the NRC staff during,4cmmission meetings on restart of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. You al t) requested a copy of the Inspector f
General's report when it is published and noted your intent to seek it.under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
The. Inspector General does not norma 11 publish investigation reports. However, when such reports are received by tb Commission, any requests for them under the FOIA are given prompt attention nd processed in accordance with our regulations in 10 CFR Part 9.
In the meantime, I appreciate yoy cooperation in meeting with Mr. Mulley. I also appreciate your continued ptoperation and that of the other local and State officials who are working to rysolve remaining emergency planning issues for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Sta ion.
