Dear Mr. Denton:

While in the process of reviewing N"QEG/CR-1280, " Power Plant Staffing",

prepared by Basic Energy Technology Associatea Incorporated, Portland General Electric Company (PCE) finds that it will 5 unable to submit comments by your requested date of June 9,1980.

It is for that reason that a 60-day extension, until August 8,1980, is requested to submit comments on this document.

FGE has the benefit of the training and experience of several management and technical people who began their professional careers in the naval nuclear propulsica program. These people have had the experience of professional work in both the Navy program and the commercial nuclear power program and are now responsible for the selection, tlaining and development of persannel involved in the operation and maintenance of the Trojan Nuclear Plan: operated by PCE.

These managerial and technical people were involved as commissioned officers, noncommissio..ed officers, and enlisted personnel qualified in the operation and maint= snee of Navy nuclear propulsion plants, in the supervision of operation anu mainten-ance of such plan s, as engineer officers on nuclear powered ships and as well as personnel who served on the staff of the Deputy Director for l

Naval Reactors in the Naval Sea System Command, Admiral Rickover's uaff.
