Gentlemen:
Confirming your discussion of April 18, 1980 with James M. Allan,
this letter refers to the investigation conducted by our office
into allegations of illegal shipment and subsequent burial of spent
nuclear fuel.
It was alleged that your company,.along with the
Boston Edison Company's Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, was involved.
A copy of investigation report 50-293/80-12 is enclosed.
Within the scope of this invescigation, no items of noncompliance
were observed.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice,"
Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter
and the enclosed investigation report will be placed in the NRC's
Public Document Room.
