In accordance with your letter dated. November 20, 1979, and the telephone conversations between Mr. W. R. Howry and Mr. J. C. Delaney, and pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 30, 40, and 70, Special Nuclear Material License No. SNM-1507 is hereby revoked and Condition No.19 is hereby added to License No. SNM-696 as follows:

The licensee is further authorized to possess uranium enriched in the U-235 isotope and the special nuclear source and byproduct material associated with irradiated special nuclear material in packages approved pursuant to 10 CFR Part 71 in private carriage from General Atomic Company licensed facilities to persons authorized to receive such materials and from a carrier's terminal to General Atomic licensed facilities and within the United States.

Special nuclear materials shall be protected during transit in accordance with 10 CFR Part 73, the licensee's approved security plan (s) and the conditions of the license.

Pursuant to Section 71.6 of 10 CFR Part 71, General Atomic Company (GAC) is exempt from the shipper's responsibility, reuse of containers, labeling of packages of radioactive materials, shipping papers, and certificate.

requirements of Sections 173.22(b), 173.28(m)(2) and (3), 173.399, 173.427, and 173.430 of 49 CFR Part 173 imposed by Section 71.5 of 10 CFR Part 71 for sole use of vehicle shipments (Fissile Class III) between two contiguous GAC facilities using approximately 950 feet of Flintkote and Dunhill Avenues, San Diego, California.

These shipments shall be made by GAC personnel.

Packages shall b'e labeled in accordance with Section 20.203(f) of 10 CFR Part 20.
