Vashington, DC 20555
Dear Sir:
SUBJECT:
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 IE Bulletin No. 80-09 The purpose of this letter is to respond to the directives set forth in IE Bulletin 80-09 which is concerned with deficiencies reported in ITT General Controls Models AH-90 and NH-90 Series Hydramotor Actuators.
A thorough review of the Oyster Creek valve list indicates that none of the ITT General Control AH-90 or NH-90 series hydramotor valve actuators are used in any safety /non-safety related systems at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Gen-enting Station.
The only valve that uses a hydraulic actuator is valve ND-32, in the Reactor Cleanup Demineralizer System.
DeLaval Turbine, Inc. was the supplier of valve ND-32.
This valve was installed during plant construction, prior to the September 1975 - January 1978 period when 368 defective springs were installed in ITT General Control AH-90 and NH-90 series actuators.
Furthermore, DeLaval Turbine, Inc. has not been cited by the subject bulletin as being in receipt of the faulty / undersized valve actuators.
Based on the above, no further action regarding IE Bulletin No. 80-09 is considered necessary.
truly yours, w
