This letter is in response to your request dated April 14, 1930, concerning

installation of a Gas Fire Suppression System in the switchgear room at the Msddam Neck Plant.
We understand that you do not desire to install an alter-nate fire suppression system, as agreed and documented at our March 16, 1978 meeting, but would rather install an automatic total flooding Halon suppression system actuated by an early warning detection system, as originally required by the staff.
We have reviewed your submittal and have determir.ed that the system you now propose, which would be designed and installed in accordance with NFPA "olume 1, Section 12A (Halon 1301 Systems), is adequate and satisfies the requirements of sectica 3.1.6 of our fire protection safety evaluation.
