Dear Dr. Mesler:
Enclosed is a copy of the " Notice of Proposed Renewal of Facility License" which is being filed with the Office of the Federal Register for publica-ti on. The Notice relates to your application dated March 4, 1980, for a license amendment to renew Facility License No. R-78 for your pool-type nuclear reactor.
The expiration date for this license was April 7,1980.
Since your appli-cation was submitted at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of your license, you have satisfied the requirements of 10 CFR Part 2, Section 2.109, entitled "Effect of Timely Renewal Application." Accordingly, pursuant to 10 CFR 2.109, the existing license will not be deemed ta have expired until the application has been finally determined.
