11/07/2022 D Temporary Job Site Inspection PROGRAM SCOPE The licensee is an educational institution authorized under an NRC license to use licensed materials containing special nuclear material (SNM) to conduct research and development (R&D) (e.g., testing of instruments to identify radiation emissions), and the licensee supervised educational use in a nuclear engineering laboratory.
Performance Observations The inspector: (I) reviewed selected records of leak tests and inventories; (2) reviewed the latest physical inventory record of SNM; and (3) observed a graduate student/teacher's assistant demonstrated how SNM was used, and the individual used a proper whole body dosimeter and extremity dose badges.
No violations ofNRC requirements were identified as a result of this inspection.
