REPORT Georgia Power Company Plant E. 1. Hatch Daxley, Georgia 31513 Reportabic Occurrence Report flo. 50-366/1980-067.

While doing an instrument check, thc "A" Drywell H2 - 02 analyzer was

  • found giving an erroneous reading.

While investigating this problem, it was discovered that the "A" analyzer had a defective cell. The "B" analyzer was operable.

There were no effects upon public health and

safety due to this event. This is a repetitive event as last reported on Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-366/1960-065.

The defective cell was replaced.

The analyzer was recalibrated and placed into service.

This instrument, Model K-4, is manufactured by Comsip Delphi.

The reactor was in the run mode at 280 MWt.

The operation of the plant was not affected. Unit II is the only unit that utilizes this type of analyzer. This instrument failure does not indicate that there is any generic problem with this instrument, O-h 9
