Dear Mr. Cavanaugh:
By letter dated April 9, 1980, you provided information on the design of hose stations in the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit No. 2 Reactor Con-tainment Building (Item 3.15 of our SER NUREG-0223). You proposed to calculate the water flow demand by assuming the two hose stations at the highest elevations are used simultaneously with the two containment cable spreading sprinkler systems in operation. We have reviewed the proposed design modifications and calculations and have determined that an appropriate design basis has been selected.
Based on our evaluation, we conclude that the manual hose stations will be adequately supplied with sufficient water and pressure, and therefore, are acceptable.
