80051 t o 0 3 7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMISSION DOCKET NOS. 50-237 AND 50-249 COMONWEALTH EDIS0N COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comiss'en (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 48 to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-19, and Amendment No. 43 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-25 issued to Comonwealth Edison Company (licensee) which revised the Technical Specifications for operation of the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units Nos. 2 and 3, located in Grundy County, Illinois. The amendments are effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendments revise the provisions in the Technical Specifications to list two new valves in Table 3.7.1, to decrease the probability of an inad-vertent release of radioactive materials following an accident.

The application for the amendments complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the licen'se amendments.

Prior public notice of these amendments was not required since the amendments do not involve a significant hazards consideration.

The Commission has determined that the issuance of these amendments will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or negative declara-tion and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of these amendments.
