Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In response to your letter of January 21, 1980, transmitting IE Bulletin 80-02, Carolina Power & Light Company submits the following information:
A review of plant documentation and discussions with General Electric have verified that the Marvin Engineering Company supplied feedwater spargers and thermal sleeves for Unit 2 only. The Unit 1 spargers and thermal sleeves were manufactured by General Electric C&I Manufacturing.
The Unit 2 spargers are interference fit spargers used for the normal distribution of feedwater; and there have been no failures, malfunctions, or unusual events associated with their use.
i The attached table provides information on the Marvin Engineering equipment at the Brunswick Unit No. 2 site. It provides a brief description, a purchase date, and also provides references to the applicable speciff.c vendor QA documentation which we understand you have already received copies of.
